For several years I successfully used Windows Live One Care. I chose however not to allow Microsoft access to an automatic credit card renewal. Consequently every year when renewal was due I would purchase new from Amazon and reinstall. This worked well until this year where after installation I was informed by Microsoft that they were no longer accepting new subscriptions for One Care. Long story short, I was sold by Amazon and Sales, Inc. an out of date, invalid, useless piece of software. When trying to resolve the issue Amazon and Sales pointed their fingers at each other indicating that it was not their problem. They had no problem taking my payment for a worthless product and became deaf when trying to resolve the issue. In fact, when I made first contact with Amazon about the problem, even though their website advised that I would receive a response within 12 hours after 1 week I sent a second message that received a prompt respnse.
Unless you are buying expensive Christmas tree ornaments don't buy One Care.

This is my second year with this product. I love the fact that I can use it one 3 computers. I love that it was easy to network my laptop to our home computer and all of its add-ons ... printer, storage etc. GREAT PRODUCT!!

Agree with prior reviewer, as of June 30 boxed versions have been discontinued and as of Oct. 15th, 2009 download versions have been discontinued by Microsoft and support will only continue for 1 more year. It has been replaced by the free Microsoft Security Essentials.

Microsoft Security Essentials (search for it on the web) has taken this product's place. It is a free anti virus/anti spyware program for all the later versions of Windows including Windows 7. I'm presently using it on my three computers and it seems to perform quite well.
For those who have XP and plan to continue using it, Live OneCare is a fine product and doesn't invade every nook and cranny of computers as do some of the competition. I highly recommend it's continued use.
