This tablet is an excellent purchase and the best thing you can get before jumping up to the much pricier Intuos4 line. It's thin, sleek and stylish, the surface feels great, and the pen is near perfect.

My previous tablet was a Genius brand, which wasn't bad for $60, but this has many improvements. First off, obviously, the Bamboo Fun has touch sensitivity, making it a lot more versatile. The Genius tablet also felt a little cheaply made, and sure enough, the pen started breaking after a few months. Speaking of pens, Wacom is the only brand that requires no battery or cord to power the stylus, so there's that. Wacoms are also compatible with just about anything, whereas the Genius needs obscure workarounds for Macs or Linux.

Install was easy, with one hiccup. At first the pressure sensitivity didn't work, but I uninstalled everything and reinstalled it, and then it worked great. According to what I've read on the Wacom forums, most problems can be fixed that way.

I've read comments from some, wishing that the eraser on the pen could be mapped to different tools in Photoshop. I use GIMP, and it lets you map separate tools and even separate color palettes for pen, eraser, and touch. It's really handy to just flip the pen around for the fill tool and then use a finger to select, and feels very natural.

All right, now for the reason I didn't give this product 5 stars: The USB cable is permanently attached. Cords like this are notorious for failing well before any other part of the hardware, and instead of being able to buy a $5-20 cord you have to replace the entire tablet. One flaw in an otherwise excellent package.

I was about to rate it a four, based on the plastic pen tip wearing down faster than i had expected and then becomeing sharper on one side and possibly scractching the surface. (it come with 2 or 3 replacement tips), but i dont think that should bring it down a whole star. I was very pleased to say the least. It was well worth it. I did a lot of research before hand. its easy to get used to, and very neat, more so than i thought, and i had high expectations. I wish it had more onboard buttons... I dont use the touch much at all. i use the pen for everything i do, which is to draw in paint tool sai, or other programs that can work with the pressure sensitivity. You can navigate windows, internet, etc. with it just like a mouse, but its too big for me to do that all the time. Ive got a place i keep it next to my computer and just drag it over when i need it.

Looks nice, feels nice. The pen features are good. The Touch features are poor. Does not respond to finger taps and slides about half the time without repeated attempts. The scroll touch function is jerky.

What more is there to say? Awesome product at an amazing price. Obviously it's the lower end of Wacom tablets so you're missing a few functions such as higher pen pressure (which honestly isn't that big of a deal) and pen tilt which I consider to be the biggest kicker. I've got an Intuos at work and I don't use the tilt function enough to miss it at home. The layout of this tablet is nice to, makes working on it very easy. So as long as you know what you're getting, I highly doubt anyone would be disappointed with this product.

The Bamboo Fun Touch and Pen is a great product. I have not found the need for my mouse since I installed the tablet. The tablet is light and thin and can easily be moved around on your desk. Wireless would be nice in the future. The tablet is easy to use and functions like a large lap top computer touch pad, but with more gestures for navigation. The hot buttons are customizable and with the pen option I am able to more accurately select items on pictures I am editing. The pen on this tablet has fewer accessories when compared to the Intous 4 by Wacom, but the Intous 4 does not have the touch pad functionality, and is about twice the price of the Bamboo. This tablet fits my needs, for now.
