After successful smash hits like Smackdown: ¡§Shut Your Mouth¡¨, ¡§Day of Reckoning ¡§Here Comes The Pain¡¨.( The Best Ever Wrestling Game). SVR2006. Better Graphic, Larger characters but several moves and hold were Removed, ¼, SVR 2006 is still better than following games!!!
SVR2007 smaller figures with a lot of move missed, is still decent but the following SVR2008 is The Worst Ever wrestling Game!!!

This is the time for SVR2009: the game itself is better than 2008(of course, the worst ever wrestling game), but is still a low quality game, less than 2006 & 2007. The Strongest goal in all SVR series is the CAW menu, now this mode is a pure Trash!!! In CAW menu the standard male figure stands in a gay pose!!! Yiack!!

THQ: Do you hate CAW mode??

For a created wrestler there¡¦s no move, there¡¦s no action, there¡¦s no attributes, You need to earn point only for unlock old moves, already free in the previous games. I hate that
It suppose we are living ¡§NEXT GENERATION CONSOLE era¡¨, Why THQ can not achieve the entire, rosters CAW and moves g from the previous wrestling games.

This SVR2009 is a waste of bits and bytes, for new generation consoles. Ok There are cool graphics in the openings but the action game turns pretty boring, good graphics won¡¦t improved a boring game, That is not Cool

Road to Wrestlemania with only 5 characters playable and Storyline are too short, Booooo.

The Worst part of this game is the Analog control System introduced in 2008. I don¡¦t know what¡¦s going on with THQ programmer¡¦s mind; the analog control system must be REMOVED! Get back to the old HCTP control system!!!

The only positive point is Create-a-Finisher, but this mode is not good enough for serious wrestling fans, you can not create submission finishers or modify preset finishers!

    THQ is destroying SVR series!!!!

This is not a game for keep, is only a game for Rent and play for two days!!

    THQ is destroying SVR series!!!!

It's a great game, I just have one minor problem with it, which isn't enough at all to knock off a star on a review. The small problem that I think is annoying is Chris Jericho's entrance theme. What happened to Chris Jericho's song? I have the SvR version stuck in my head, and I hate it. Chris Jericho is one of the best wrestlers in the WWE, and his theme song is always the reason I skip his entrance whenever I wrestle as him.

Other than that, the game is awesome, the Road to WrestleMania's are fun (while they last), career mode's fun, and it's really cool how you can unlock things instead of always buying them. Tag team moves/finishers are fun to use when playing a tag team match with a friend. For anybody who is a Chaingang Soldier, a Jericoholic, or just a videogame/wrestling fan, it is a must-have for any PS2 collection.

The Smackdown series has been around a good while now and this game seemed stripped down. In this version they actually took matches out and it confused me as to why. The addition of Inferno Match was awesome and works quite well. The Road to Wrestlemania mode was a nice diversion and the storylines albeit short were some of the best ever in a wrestling game.

The career mode I thought was a pure joke. There is a good selection of wrestlers and they look like they do in real life. I have always felt that the Smackdown series has done a good job capturing the look and feel of the WWE and this game is no different. Even with a lot of matches taken out there is still enough fun to be had in this game. If you are a die hard wrestling fan or Smackdown fan you could do a lot worse than this.

Enhanced Tag-Team Matches and Other New Match Types
Tag Team matches are emphasized in Smackdown vs. Raw 2009, and there are many new additions to make the game more realistic and fun. Players can now perform double teams on opponents, such as having one player hold an opponent against the ropes while on the apron, or pulling down on ropes while an opponent is running to send them out of the ring. And there are now different ways of tagging in, such as the forced blind tag and reversible hot tag. Teams also get team-specific finishing moves that are incredibly satisfying to perform.

In addition to tag matches, there are 14 one-on-one match types including the Inferno, Gauntlet, Falls Count Anywhere, Steel Cage and Ladder matches, and even a Backstage Brawl.

Road to Wrestlemania Mode
The single player Road to Wrestlemania mode offers a deep and diverse story line that is filled with brand defections, team building, and strategic alliances. You can choose from Triple H, CM Punk, The Undertaker, John Cena, and Chris Jericho to play in this single-player mode. There is also a story line for co-operative play, in which players control Batista and Rey Mysterio. The story lines are so custom tailored and well done that you might find them more compelling than what you see on television.

WWE fans and fighting game fans alike will both love this latest game, giving them a chance to grapple as their favorite superstars.
