   Yes, you save some bucks, some weight, and a lot of battery life by buying a Netbook over a conventional laptop or notebook. But you really need one of these drives. The good thing about getting one external burner like this is that you can bring it with you if you need it; and it can double for so many further uses. This one has no connectivity issues at all. Just plug it in, and you're working.

   I purchased an Acer Aspire one aod250(10 inch screen) and needed an optional optical drive for those long plane trips. I purcharsed this dvd-rw drive and it arrived overnight (thanks to Amazon PRIME). I simply connected the power supply USB cord to the computer and the system USB cord to my acer mini and Shazzam like magic a new field was populated next to my computer icon. I then played a dvd and a regular cd. There was no software installation needed. I also had Mcafee and i did not prevent me from connecting my DVD-dw drive.

   I'm stuck using a little netbook while my desktop is in the shop. But, this little DVD reader/burner hardly makes me miss my desktop at all. It's been great for watching movies, and burning info to CDs and DVDs. It's small enough to take along for travel and road trips if need be. I have NO REGRETS at ALL with this purchase and highly recommend this product!!

   MY HUSBAND SET ME UP IN 5 MINUTES WITH THIS CD/DVD RW BURNER DRIVE. WE HAVE USED IT TO DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE FROM MY OTHER COMPUTER, SUCH AS KODAX, AND ETC. IT IS SMALL AND EASY TO WORK WITH. FITS IN MY NEW SLEEVE THAT ACCOMMODATES MY ACER COMPUTER. I HAVEN'T TRIED IT TO SEE DVD'S MOVIES YET, BECAUSE I DON'T WATCH MOVIES ON MY COMPUTER. THE COST WAS GREAT ESP. WHEN I SEE HOW MUCH THIS THINGS COST ON HSN AND QVC. I FEEL IT WILL SERVE MY NEEDS.

   After a considerable amount of time, using the advice of the folks at Pro Ebiz I was finally able to watch DVD's. However, it took me powering my computer on and off several times for the device to be found. I thank Pro Ebiz for the advice but the external DVD drive isn't without flaws.
