This is obviously an older game, but it holds true to the x-files series. It is fun, even though it isn't as interactive as the more modern first person shooters. It does manage to keep you guessing throughout the gameplay. I bought it when it was brand new, played it through a few times, and then forgot about it. I remembered it a few months ago, and was surprized to find it on here. So, I bought it since I lost my copy, and I am happy to say that it worked on both Vista amd the new Windows 7! (MSDN Pre-release) So, if you are worried about compatability, you're good! I did have it randomly close a few times, but even newer games can do that from time to time.

Just started playing this game, I seem to be doing alright. Works great for (Vista) with no problems. Kind of hard, makes you think. Definately worth it though if you are an X-files fan. Great video clips and environment. Makes you feel like you are realy there. Lots of problem solving and asking questions. Very much like a real life agent.

Ive been an on and off fan of the x files for years until recently, now im a huge fan!! but going threw the times when i was on again off again one of the things that never differed was my love for this game. it may be getting along in years now but its still on of the best games ive ever played. the story is an excellent addition to the x files world. you play as agent craig willmore who is an FBI agent from Seattle, has been called on by AD skinner to find mulder and scully who have dissapeared under strange circumstances.

i know there are some whiny people saying "but i wanted to play as mulder and scully", well thats not really very original for a game now is it. everyone would have expected that, and in this game you really do feel like your part of it because theres no association between familiar characters. meaning your not playing a character that will constantly remind you that this game isnt real. and getting to mulder and scully makes it all the more realistic. besides if you wanna play as mulder and scully i recommend the PS2 X Files game Resist & Serve.

anyway back to the review, the point and click aspect of the game is not as dumb as you would imagine, i believe it keeps thing simple control wise so you can focus on the paranormal mystery. i dont want to give to much away but there are plenty of twists and turns in this game to keep you enthralled and guessing for hours of play.

the acting is excellent, the feel of the game is eery and mysterious (as it should be) believe me when i say tht this game is not just for x files fans, it can be enjoy by anyone! it truely is a great game and i definitely recommend it.

I love this game. It is almost impossable to find games that DON'T have CGI in them. I don't want to play pixelated characters from a computer screen. I want to see live action actors that you can manipulate and have talk to people. This game really is a great deal of fun.

Okay, you're NOT Fox or Scully, BUT they make their little appearances throughout the game as does Skinner. This was one of the first adventure games I ever played so at the time it seemed pretty difficult. In retrospect, it might seem a bit easier but still the same engrossing game. Lots and lots of investigating, searching for hotspots and all that.

    Good things:
    1. lengthy with strong story the whole way
    2. good brain challenge
    3. excellent visually and fab soundtrack
    4. it ran great on win98
    5. you get second chances, and thirds, fourths, fifths......

    Not so good things:
    1. not enought fox and dana
    2. there's a shootem' up part and I'm not a fan
    3. no follow-up game? what gives chris carter?

Overall, worth the effort as long as you have patience and LOVE to explore.
