I had this game when it first came out many years ago. I loved it then and I love it now. It is the quintessential game in your old school gaming kit.

Like a lot of the older Zelda fans I grew up playing the original Zelda on the NES and loved it.Ironically I never got around to buying and owning a Super Nintendo as well as this classic game "A Link To The Past" until I was 25 years old.It took me a while to get to where I am now(Ganon's Tower) in the game but with a lot of patience, a printed out walkthrough and a lot of addictive gaming I got close to beating it and am still playing it until I do.I know this will be one of those games worth playing again and again no matter how many times I beat it.
What makes this the best of the 2D Zelda games you may ask?It expands on the story telling and gameplay has more levels, side quests and dungeongs and most of all is just a plain fun game to play. While it took me about a month to beat the original Legend Of Zelda game this one like Ocarina Of Time kept me busy for several months just to reach the final boss. A lot of the gameplay mechanics, level designs and boss fights set a standard that influenced other games that came after it such as Ocarina for N64 and Twilight Princess for the Gamecube/Wii.
This game is long but easy enough for the average yet dedicated gamer as well being challenging and deep for the pros such as the ones at Nintendo Power who love it.

I've owned this game in the past and it is truly my favorite of the
Zelda series. I'm playing Zelda: Twilight Princess on my Wii now. Twilight Princess is good, but I sure wish Nintendo would include Link to the Past in a new compilation version for the Wii.

Hello world, time for one of my reviews again, I hope it helps someone out there, if it's just one person, it's fine by me. :) Ok so, The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past for the Super Nintendo is an amazing game hands down. Gameplay for starters will be anywhere from 10-30 hours. You can still pick up a Super Nintendo on the internet in fine working condition for anywhere from twenty to forty dollars.(I recommend you buy one ASAP, it's Aug. 2009 as I write this). When you buy it you need to pick up this game and a dust sleeve/protector for it, because this will be playable 5 years down the road. SNES and the Super Nintendo games we're made tough, hella tough.
Ok enough with that, just thought I would mention all that because this game and the SNES is still very purchasable and very worth it price wise. I know times are tough now for too many of us.
This game is just cool! You will go around this world in 2D? gaining hearts (more life to fight bad guys longer!), different trinkets for people who ask for them etc. Mix that with some pretty incredible music, a great storyline, and just some old school fun. I'm telling you, pick this up! It is so worth it. And protected with that dust cover (A SNES one), you can play this game and still have fun in Aug. 2013 (5 years from now). Enjoy! :)
