This game could've been a lot better. The screen views are too small most of the time, and it's very uncomfortable to control the camera angles on two player mode. The game is one of the shortest of this series, and doesn't have a good replay value.

After renting the PS3 version and finding it underwhelming in the graphics department, I figured I'd save some money and get the last gen version. That was a mistake. This version is not only waaay too low res compared to the average PS2 game much lower than even the Wii version. Not only that, but there were glitches galore. AI Jedi will constantly run into walls. Enemies will get stuck. After dealing with 4 levels of this, I gave up. This is probably the most inferior version of this game. Unless your a hardcore Clone Wars fan with only a PS2, I'd pass.

when I bought this game I first thought it was going to be very har but when I played it it was great but it was just a little boring sometimes. The fun part about ther game is that you get to be your favorite clone(i perfer being clones more than jedi)and get to fight droids and villians. The boring part is that it's more like playing a children's mini video game. But the game is still great!!!!

Got this for the PS2 because its currently the only major console I own right now. For a PS2 Star Wars game, its actually quite fun. The gameplay tends to be a little clunky at first, since there are far too many moves you can make with far too few of the controls. As a result, you make quite a few unintended moves. However, once you get a knack for how they work, and you get a semblance of control, the fun factor increases.
The game is based on the current Clone Wars cartoon, and falls in between seasons I and II. I'm about halfway thru it, and the story is typical Star Wars fare. The Separatists have developed a new superweapon, and the Jedi have to destroy it. However, the story enables you to play as a variety of characters. From the obligatory mainstays of Anakin and Obi-wan, to fan favorites like Mace Windu and Aayla Secura, and even varies it a little by letting you take control of some clone troopers. Going a step further, there are times when your character will take control of vehicles, such as the STAP and the one-man walkers. But, going back to the clunky control scheme, these areas are only mildly entertaining.
Given the fact that you will die a lot, the designers thankfully have allowed for unlimited lives, and reaching the next checkpoint, where your character will respawn, is mostly fairly easy. The stages are well designed, though a bit repetitive, but with nicely rendered backgrounds there's plenty of planetary Star Wars scenery to enjoy. Collectible articfacts and orbs are scattered about the various stages giving an incentive for exploration.
The graphics are nothing cutting edge, pretty standard for the PS2, especially for a game like this. It seems to me that the game was rushed into distribution, to capitalize on the release of the Season I DVDs and the new season premiere. However, there is fun to be had. It plays a lot like Jedi Power Battles, which, for me, was one of the best Jedi fighting games ever. To finally have another chance to play as Jedi and dispatch droid enemies with cool lightsaber action is enough incentive to play this game.
To rent or buy will probably depend on your love of Star Wars or appreciation for top notch gaming. I have to say, this is mostly a game for Star Wars fans.

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes lets Star Wars fans young and old live out the sweeping galactic adventures of the Clone Wars. For the first time ever, players can fight as their favorite Jedi and clone troopers from the preeminent animated television series – from familiar faces like Anakin Skywalker to new heroes like Clone Captain Rex. A brand-new storyline, which bridges the gap between season one and two, takes the player on a multifaceted adventure to stop a mysterious techno assassin’s destructive plot. Built around two-player cooperative action, the accessible controls and family-friendly gameplay bring Star Wars fans across generations together like never before to fight the evil Separatists and restore peace to the galaxy. Gameplay Gameplay in Star Wars the Clone Wars: Republic Heroes is mission-based. Players can choose to approach the action as either a Jedi or a clone class character. Playing as a Jedi you have access to eight playable characters, and as a clone you play as one of a group of clones. The game was developed with co-op play in mind, which means players can more or less count on never fighting alone, which is a good thing considering the hordes of battle droids and other enemies you will face. The game also features a puzzle-solving gameplay component, as well as an upgrade system based on the collection of "Force Orbs" scattered throughout the game environment. Weapons and Combat Keeping with the games' user friendly approach, the control scheme has been designed with Jedi character's lightsaber and force powers, as well as clone characters firing trigger accessible from a single input source. Because of the difference in the character classes weapons, combat differs depending on the class chosen. Due to their reliance on the their lightsabers, Jedi will mostly engage enemies at close range, although force power attacks can allow for more distance from targets. In addition, utilizing Jedi powers at point blank range players are able to engage in "droidjacking," which allows a Jedi to take control of a droid's weapons system and other abilities. On the other hand, clone character combat relies more on firepower, utilizing a variety of blaster type weapons and thermal grenades, although clones are able to acquire heavier weapons, such as miniguns and rocket launchers as the game progresses. Because of the projectile nature of these weapons clone character combat can be fought as a variety of distances. Key Game Features
