My daughter is 2 and I've already bought two different DVD players for the car that have broken or worn out. They were cheaper, but I thought it was worth it to spend the money this time. This thing looks like it's going to last for the long haul...built well and the quality is wonderful. I like the long battery life--my old DVD player only lasted 30 minutes--not nearly long enough to entertain a toddler on a flight. We're glad we invested in this and will be able to use it for years to come.

I've had this unit for about 4 months now and have been pretty disappointed. For Sony, the performance and design has been disappointing. The player frequently freezes while playing a dvd, I put the dvd in another player and it plays fine. I'm not that impressed with the controls either. As they're smooth touch controls, you can't feel them, and they're not illuminated, so when it's dark, they're very difficult to find.

Bought this for my wife. who is in Alaska for two months, and she couldn't be more thrilled. Great picture and sound quality and works very well hooked up to a larger television.

Very disappointed in this product. In 1.5 years it has broken down on us 2 times. Initially the parts were covered, but after 1 year parts and labor aren't covered and at 11 months it broke a 2nd time with a different problem. Initial problem was movie would skip or would stop and freeze. 2nd problem is that movie plays but screen is black. They said it would be about $145 to fix and unit cost $170. What a joke. Then they felt bad and offered 25% discount, but that is still over $100 and it appears to be a lemon. Why would I pay that just to have it break down again. Very disappointed!! I picked sony because of it's name, but apparently Sony doesn't sell good portable DVD players.
