   product sucked, did not work !!! Tried it on different computers to make sure it was not a conflicting problem with OS, but still did not load properly to work and had same problems on each system....

   I bought this product to convert VHS tapes to digital form. I loaded it on a new Toshiba Sattelite L305 laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium. The software loaded okay, although the installation process took over 15 minutes. The USB device worked as it should: the OS was able to recognize the device and load the device drivers from it. The progam runs and with the NTSC composite video cable in place, the program displays the input signal just as it looks on the TV. However, it WON'T capture the video to a file. After the "capture" button is clicked, it displays that it's capturing, but never goes more than about 30 seconds before stopping and displaying "unknown capture error". The hard disk on the laptop is defragmented and as few programs as possible are running. But after 3 hours of trying it hasn't actually captured a single second of video. It just displays "unknown capture error" every time. This product is garbage, and Office Depot will be taking it back.

   I recommend you to Run, not walk away from this product. I have had nothing but trouble from the software. First Roxio does not tell you you have to uninstall Creator 8 & 9. And when the usb device isnot reconized They give you instructions for uninstalling all Sonic & Roxio products. The instructions are not clear and my computer crashed and Windows would not run. Luckly my tech had a ghost copy of my hard drive and got me back up. Then he installed the Roxio soft ware and everything is slow but running. Except now my DVD/CD rw internal hard drive keeps thinking it is a Cd ROM Drive. It will not let me copy any files to a DVD. The VHS to DVD software doesn't seem to do 1/2 of what the Creator 8 did. My computer still is not working right. I'm afraid to reintall older copies of Roxio Sonic programs I have. I wish now I had never installed it. Ijustwanted to convert analog to digital easier.

   This program is ok .... after you get it set up.

   This software is so easy to use and allows you to transfer all of your old memories from vhs tapes to dvd. Very simple to capture the video, edit out what you don't want, add an appropriate menu with music and customize to burn. The instructions that come with the software are very brief, you just need to play with it a bit but after a few minutes you will find out how simple it really is. I am very impressed - the best $40 I have spent!!
