Absolute ripoff. McAfee is a company run by bandits.
Customer service sends you to technical service which sends you in endless circles. Product arrived with no "key". No key means you cannot register - can't register means you cannot subscribe - try explaining and you get the most sincere endless apologies by email but never a direction toward a resolution. Like Symantec's "Norton" this is basically a good product from a once-good company. Too underpriced for it's own good. But the stone-walling (famous if you can believe numerous web-based commentaries like mine) is like a bad dream. All attempts, even with cash at the ready, meet only dead-end results.
Next time I'll buy my "protection" from one of the newwer "untrusted" companies with tech. support you can barely understand from some place on the other side of the planet. American companies aren't geared to the needs of home PC users.

I purchased this product for installation on my laptop that had been severely affected by malware, specifically an adware that claimed my computer was being attacked by a malicious virus and I needed to purchase this antivirus software.
McAfee Total Protection 2010 was easy enough to install, but had no effect whatsoever on this adware, i.e. it did not highlight it nor eliminate it.
I finally took my laptop to the local PC guru who recommended a complete scan and virus clean-up and informed me that there are much more effective antivirus software products than this one.
Overall a big disappointment since I trusted the name McAfee
