Bought this product to connect USB hard drives - upon receipt and connecting drives realized that the drives needed and quickly used up, the two "larger" USB ports. Didn't get into it, but wondered what is with the five "little" USB ports - is this product really all that useful?

I upgraded to this because I had exhausted my 4-port hub and I liked the look of it. Unlike other USB hubs that look like plastic toys, this has a very clean, professional look that matches the rest of my office equipment (monitors, speakers, etc). I also like the angled approach of the USB plugs.
As others have indicated, the adhesive on the bottom is useless. I'm not sure what surface it would stick to considering it peeled off of the unit itself very easily. I replaced them with my own velcro adhesive which worked well. I don't consider this a show-stopper because most hubs don't come with their own adhesive.
My main issue with the unit is that the usb connection is fixed to the unit as opposed to offering a mini usb plug. I don't like this for a few reasons:
1. My computer is far away from my desk, and this required me to use a USB extension cable to connect as opposed to a single, longer mini usb cable.
2. If the attached cable does go out, it's not as simple as simply plugging in a new one. You may be required to replace the unit unless you are good with a soldering iron.
Pros: Build quality, appearance, design
Cons: Fixed USB cable instead of connection, useless adhesive
I intend to keep this hub but feel that for the price, a mini USB plug is expected.

Worked first few month, now when I boot my Mac, it hangs, but as soon as I disconnect the hub, it boots fine. I usually have keyboard/mouse, 2 ext hd, CF card reader. with 2 ext hd, at first I thought it was the 2 hd that's taking too long, but even w/o hd connected, it hangs. Also it's not well design, if you connect couple of USB wires to it, it will go out of ballance and flimsy.

Wow, just what I needed. More port support for my new Imac. Seems you can never have enough connections. This is just plug and play. Also has power so you can charge your ipod. The price is good too. Thats what I have come to expect from Amazon.

This product works as advertised. It's great for iMac users because it fits in the space on the metal 'foot' below the screen. Sticky tape backing promises years of trouble-free, fully-affixed enjoyment, but frequent users of the hub will soon learn that the durability of the stick tape=fail. Alas.
