Please be aware...these speakers have an integrated power supply that is very susceptible to outside interference. I heard a constant buzz/hum from the left speaker (where the power supply is located) whenever the speakers were turned on.
However, by looking at some of these other reviews, it does seem that others had a positive experience with the X-140s. So who knows...maybe I just got a lemon.

Frankly I was expecting much lower quality and sound when I ordered these. However, I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED!! GREAT price, great sound and features. The front and back of these speakers are high quality, well made. The sound is excellent, great base! The front of the main speaker has an on-off button which is very handy. Also there is a knob for sound intensity (base etc.). I use this in addition to my computer equalizer and the sound is just superb. You can connect external headphones and MP3\Ipod directly into the front of the main speaker. They look great and sound great! I would order these again in a New York minute and highly recommend them!

One thing I wanted to add to previous reviews is that these speakers do not have an adapter that needs plugging in to the wall. Some smaller external speakers I have had have an adapter that takes up a lot of socket real estate, something you don't need given how you often have a lot of fat adapters to plug in already. These speakers have a simple socket cord. A minor, but appreciated feature.

This is an excellent set of PC Speakers. Easy set-up, solid and substantial cabinets and for the money you cannot beat the price anywhere. The sound is very good across all of the ranges. If you are looking for an inexpensive set of PC speakers that will meet most any requirement, I would suggest these.

Like many people I was fed up with the low sound and quality of my laptop speakers. I did my research and choose these speakers to give my movie watching and music playing experience an extra boost. Speakers are a bit big but still don' take up much room. Sound quality is excellent for just two speakers. I never hear distortion, even when cranked up to the maximum volume. Highly recommended.
