I've had a lot of Logitech mice and this has to be one of my favorites so far. Great tracking, the scroll wheel has the best of both worlds, and the thumb buttons are more perfectly placed than my trusty MX1000.
I just started gaming on my Mac and I noticed that the wireless MX Revolution was not up to snuff so I picked up the G500. The difference was night and day. I don't think I'll ever go back to a wireless mouse.
There are a few cons though. I think the actual clicks could be a lot shorter. The click is somewhat large and hollow feeling. I also feel that the ergonomics are not as good as the MX Revolution or the older MX 1000. Finally, the mouse does not come with software support for OS X so you'll need to find an alternative (SteerMouse, USB Overdrive, etc). OS X thinks the mouse is a keyboard the first time you plug it in.
All in all though, I'm a big fan of this mouse. So much so that I actually ordered a second one to leave at my office. Great price, great value, solid performance, and firm construction. What more can you ask for from a gaming mouse?

Logitech is one of those brands where you know you're getting a good product regardless of what you buy. This mouse continues and builds on that trend. It's easily the best mouse I've ever used, and a lot cheaper than most of the mice I've used too!! Plug it in and it works immediately, on a PC or a Mac. Many buttons that are programmable, and onboard memory so you can use the same settings on every computer rather than having to set them manually every time you plug the mouse into a different computer. If you're a gamer, you won't find a better gaming mouse. Heck, even if you're just a casual PC user I'd recommend the mouse because of the fairly low price, and the great quality/comfort of the mouse. My favorite feature is how you can press a button to change the scroll when to either "clicky" mode or "smooth" mode.
An excellent mouse. Do yourself a favor and invest, you won't be disappointed.

This logitech mouse works very well, especially for gaming. As a gaming mouse, it has excellent weight, great tracking, responsive buttons and excellent ergonomics. I can play WoW for hours without much discomfort. I really like the "heftiness" of the scroll wheel too. A great mouse. Would buy again.

This is a great mouse for the price...its really made gaming allot easier as far as programable options. The scroll wheel is much better than anyother I have tried. It is also very sharp/sleek looking and should go well with any system. I do think it is a little small if you have larger hands that "might" be a problem. All in all, great mouse.
