The SBF-96 Logitech 3-Button optical wheel mouse has been a nice affordable workhorse from web browsing to action packed gaming. As always the low-end Logitech mice have been pretty good for my button intensive applications and this one has maintained that status with me. I've bought this from here for myself and from giant on short notice for one of my friends and the two have performed just the same for about a year now. Depending on the frequency of use of any mouse button can have a very acute affect on the lifetime of that mouse. I've given it 4 stars because it doesn't quite meet my needs as an artist or a gamer however for general use and the previous it does pretty well. If you don't need this mouse for gaming or art applications then you can go ahead and give it a 5 star rating.

While this is not what you would call a "high-end gaming mouse", it is absolutely fine for normal every day computer use. It is sturdy, the optical sensor tracks well, it requires no special drivers (both XP and Win7 instantly recognized it when plugged in), and you really can't beat the price. For standard office use this is perfect. However, if you are a die-hard PC gamer looking for high performance in 3D video games, this mouse is not for you.

It took me a long time to switch away from mice that didn't have the ball on the bottom. Call me whatever you want. But if something works, and it works well, then I stick with it to the end. I bought this mouse years ago, and it's just as cheap then as it is now. It still works wonderful. But after 3 years, (and many video games), the left mouse button has started to get sticky.
That's not a complaint. It's 3 years old! I'm going to buy this exact model again.

I buy quite a few of these mice every year. I have a big male labrador retriever, a true cousin of Marley, who seems to take pleasure in chewing up my computer mice when I'm not careful. This mouse is sturdy and dependable with all the basic features, yet inexpensive. It won't have all the bells and whistles desired by some people, but it does the job for most day to day computer tasks.
One piece of advice to the shipping department would be to send these in a box. The mice are packed only in a plastic bag and were shipped in a mailing bag, thus virtually unprotected from being flung about by the shipping company. I buy them five at a time to save on shipping costs but only use them as needed. The last one I opened was defective (it had been damaged internally - not visible to the eye) but by the time I was aware of this it was too late to seek return or replacement.
