   As a fan of the original L4D, I pre-ordered the second in advance and patiently waited. I know some were upset and threatening boycotts over Valve abandoning the first game with Crash Course as an afterthought and moving to the second. I however, can't argue it. L4D2 picks up with the first left off with tons of improvement. The major edition of melee weapons is the best. Instead of having to rely on bullets, you can switch to one of several weapons which all have distinct swings and sounds. This adds a whole new dimension to the game as you're free to replace your pistols. There are a few new additions for weapons as well, boomer bile which is puke that attracts zombies away from you and can even mess up some of them like Tanks. There's also a defrib unit to revive a dead teammate, adrenaline shots to temporarily boost your health and speed, more variety of guns... and of course, new enemies. Also new is the scavenge mode. You can team up with friends to take on others in a race to fill gas tanks into generators (or a car) with the winner being the one who fills the most. This mode plays excellent, as do the returning Versus and Survival. All in all, this game is a must have if you're a zombie or even FPS fan, although Gold membership is almost a must for the online play (as well as a mic). Valve definitely poured their heart, souls and energy into this game and any thought of a quick capitalization on the success of the first should go out the window. This game plays incredibly tightly and is loads of fun. I purchase me two or three titles a year for full price and L4D2 is the proudest I've been over supporting a game, brand and company.

   Despite being sparse on maps and options, the original Left4Dead was a fantastic game. The follow-up, Left4Dead 2 improves on the original in almost every way. Most importantly the game is more difficult, the original was tough but once you became acclimated even the dreaded expert mode was too easy and the multiplayer lost it's fun quickly because it was simply too easy for an experienced survivor team. The sequel is almost perfectly balanced between survivor and infected. There are still no options for removing or restricting certain weapons or med packs but we did gain team matching... which brings me to the game's biggest fault: the net code is absolute garbage. It's all but impossible to play on the official dedicated servers as the lag creates a slideshow and on team games you're more likely to get dumped back to the lobby or main menu than ever finish a round. Valve thankfully included the back up option of playing on local servers but unless you live in or near a major city or happen to have a very solid internet connection, you will still experience significant lag. The survivor AI has been so dumbed down that it's completely pointless to play offline as the computer controlled survivors will not pick up heath kits and often stand and watch as you are slowly destroyed by special infected. Overall it's hard to recommend L4D2 because it was obviously rushed out for the Christmas season. Hopefully Valve is working to correct the net code and terribly overworked servers and I would wait until they do before buying.

   I cannot put this game down! Has all of the original weapons plus a load of new ones including the ever so awesome melee weapons and a slew of new guns including
   M-16, FN SCAR, AK-47, SILENCED MAC-10, UZI, CHROME SHOTGUN, ORIGINAL SHOTGUN, SPAS-12, BENELLI M4, DESERT EAGLE, 2 SNIPER RIFLES, GRENADE LAUNCHER and then some. Also has new modes of co-op game play and on top of all of this the levels themselves are more expansive than in the original game. If u liked the original "LEFT 4 DEAD" you'll love "LEFT 4 DEAD 2"! Easily the best zombie game ever made no questions asked.

   i like how there is more weapons to choose from this time around. 5 campains instead of 4 . note to anyone who hasnt played these games there not very long but you get a lot of replay value out of them. like replaying the story mode or jus online with other people. only thing i dont like is the characters , the ones from part 1 are better. hope theres a lot of dlc coming out and they wait a while to make a 3rd installment . heres some levels that would be cool if they made them a movie theater,casino, foggy graveyard at night. cemetary level wasnt in cemetary very long .so if u love zombies and shooters like me then you should enjoy the game.

   First of all, the gameplay on this game is great, I've gone through all of the campaigns on local multiplayer and have had a blast. That being said, online modes are completely unplayable due to lag. I will shoot a zombie, and the shot won't register for 5 seconds, whenever there are enemies on the screen I will teleport around the stage. Try searching google for "left 4 dead 2 unplayable". Do yourself a favor and buy this game on PC, I wish I had. I'm never pre-ording another valve game again.
