This device is a revamping of an older design that proved very successful for Kensington and they were smart to build off of that without doubt. However the con's outweigh the pro's here:
Pro's:
1. Lightweight.
2. Simple to use, and get a quick and convenient use out of.
3. USB storage for storing presentations is a stroke of genius.
4. Laser pointer does come in handy. Nice touch.
5. Battery life just isn't an issue, unless you're doing something extreme with this.
Con's:
1. Price point is WAY too high for such a simple device.
2. Has no air-mouse functionality but should.
3. Should come with 4GB of storage.
4. Actually has a very cheap looking build to it.
5. Cannot map the keys on this ... hmmm.
6. Not infrared.
This is a thirty dollar device -- tops! Even on sale I'd be hesitant not to shop around for something else. Kensington should've bit the bullet on this and delivered it to market for $45 if they were looking to make an impact with this. The price is an absolute deal killer though.

This is a wireless laser pointer for use in presentation, and an upgrade to the Kensington 33374 Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer. The only differences I can tell between these two, is that this model comes with 1Gb of built in storage space on the USB stick, and is advertised as having a 30 foot range compared to 60 feet for the 33374. All of Kensington's wireless pointers come with a USB stick for communication with the computer, so it makes sense that it should also be able to double as storage for your actual presentation. This is really a feature that should have been on all of their pointers and it's about time they added it. My problem with it, is that I don't feel it justifies the increase in price over the 33374. I don't want to focus on price too much since that can always change and a review should be about the product, but before purchasing this model, the budget-conscious should consider whether it is worth it, or if they should just buy the Kensington 33374 Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer (especially given how cheap USB drives are now).
As to the function of the pointer itself, I found it worked pretty well. I used it in a mock presentation and had no problems with it. Kensington's web site claims it operates up to 30 feet away. From my tests, I found it to work reliably up to 42 feet. Anything after that, and I would occasionally have stuttering in response time. I was able to get up to 60 feet away and still have it function, although with limited success. The 4 buttons work well and integrate nicely with Microsoft PowerPoint, which is the only program I tried it with. I didn't really care for the form factor of the pointer, but it does fit nicely in my hand and is not too heavy, so I didn't notice it while speaking. I love the way the USB receiver fits inside the actual remote, so you only have one object to carry with you and don't have to keep up with a small USB drive. It fits securely and does not feel like it will easily come out.
One of my main gripes about the presenter though is the size of the USB. 1Gb is way too small, and it should at least be 4GB. It is unlikely that many people's presentations will actually need more than 1 Gb, but it would be nice to at least have the option, given how cheap flash drives are now.

The controls on this device are solid. You don't have to control much interface in a PowerPoint presentation anyways. The distance is excellent and will cover the advertised 30'. The 1GB storage is an excellent idea in that it is one less thing you'll have to dig around for in your laptop bag. It's nice to be able to have a catalog of files and documents on this memory stick because not every meeting is just once straightforward PowerPoint presentation. The only thing setting this back is the price, kind of steep for what it is.

As someone who regularly makes presentations -- and carries a flash drive, which I frequently lose -- I found this presenter very novel and useful. The pointer shape is comfortable, not too big or two small.
Two possible improvements that I've noted:
1 - I would much prefer more storage space. I can quickly approach 1G by storing only one presentation, which for me is a large slide decks, images, and audio & video files.
2 - Some sort of storage case would be nice. Something to protect the device when I throw it in my bag.

This is an update from the last version of this product but it remains merely decent. There are better designed, more compact products on the market that outperform this. The fact that they made the receiver a 1gb flash drive is interesting but in these days of extremely inexpensive flash memory, it seems like it could have been at least a 4gb-8gb drive given the total price. I would look at other brands unless this unit is on sale as while it does the job, the overall value for the money is low. Get the older model and a separate flash drive for less.
