I bought this slide converter after researching every machine I could possibly find and pricing digitizing my old slides at a variety of camera services. It was on sale so I decided to try it - I had 15 days to get it to work or return to store. I fumbled with the install - hard to tell if it was me or not - but finally got it all to work. When I plug in the USB cable my PhotoImpression Viewer automatically senses a scanner or camera and I can just select the 35mm scanner. The machine works well, instantly showing the slide or negative. I can edit or repair any faults in the pictures and save for later use. I have been wanting a way to conserve old slides that I and my mother have had to put on CDs in order to pass the family pics onto my grandsons. I was thrilled with this machine. I had tried using small slide viewers and taking pics with my digital camera and found that was best in a dark room, so I figured a slide in a small black box would work and 5megapixels is quite sufficient for the conversions. I can't imagine that anything more expensive would work any better since it amounts to having a small dark room with a light source that transfers the pictures to the computer.

This product is so simple to use. Once you install the software in your computer, just plug in the camera and insert the slide or negative film using the holder of the film slide it in. Choose the picture you want, save it to your computer and then you can print it. So simple.

This product doesn't transfer the image very well. I called the manufacturer who then sent me a new driver CD which did help, but it still wasn't very good. Certainly not good enough to share the end result with anybody.

The driver for this item is NOT compatible with Windows Vista. The slide trays are of a size too large to fit the holes in my 35MM negative films. The picture openings are too large for the 35mm photo negative films. Attempted two different Innovative Technology slide converters
neither driver would install in my Vista OS computer. I don't believe these IT converters are
made for 35MM negatives.

I'm not a slouch on comupters and, after an hour and a half, was unable to get thing to run on my system. I returned this one, spent another $100 and got one that does handstands. Well worth it in my book.
