I have a previous model of the ScanSnap and it works great. I needed another unit so I ordered the S1500 deluxe bundle. Amazon did great as usual, good price, fast delivery.
While I care more about function that form, I have to say that the S1500 looks much better than Fujitsu's older models. Thankfully the performance is better too.
You won't go wrong if you purchase the ScanSnap 1500 for your scanning needs. In fact, I am willing to bet that you will rate this as one of your best equipment buys and wonder why you didn't get it sooner.

Just got this new toy and I'm luvin it! Scans super fast and does it in duplex. I don't mind that it doesn't have any TWAIN drivers; I have my flatbed scanner for that.
I've been scanning my old bills and stuff... what a breeze!
Just a couple of tips:
1. Be careful when removing the packaging tape; there is a little latch to push on the right-side (look at the figure in the manual)
2. The serial number for Rack2-File is on the little folded white Product Information sheet (almost ripped my hair off looking for that number)

This scanner is awesome. I needed a reliable scanner to convert pt records into paperless and this little scanner has made that possible. I tried a xerox scanner that I though worked well at the time but then it crashed after 3 days (lucky for me) and I returned it and found this one. I read all the reviews so I knew it would be a good scanner but I never expected something this awesome. This is truly a great scanner...fast, reliable, never jams and when it double feeds, it quickly catches it and alerts you. I have another higher model from fujitsu, the fi-5120c and this little is even better than that one! I am now buying two more for the office

I have a small business and wanted to become more paperless. The scanner is small and is right next to my computer where I can scan documents and save to my files without leaving my desk. It's a reasonbly priced, fast scanner. I have no negative comments about this product.

Although I have just started using it, I can see that it will be a big help in organizing my files. Speed and ease of use are the strongest points. Default Setting includes skipping the scan of blank back pages, but such pages are sometimes scanned when working with thinner paper or bold printing on the front that is picked up through the back of the document. These pages are easily deleted. The scanner has jammed a couple of times due to scanning some thinner pages that were a bit crumpled. Jams are extremely easy to clear, unlike the dreaded jams with my laser printer. So far, I am quite happy that I purchased this item.

The ScanSnap S1500 offers resolutions of up to 300 dpi--color or grayscale--without sacrificing speed. With the touch of a single button, you can scan up to 20 double-sided pages per minute.
You won't need to do a thing to ensure that your scans look their best, because the S1500 comes equipped with paper-feed detection to monitor page size, as well as color and black-and-white detection. Better still, the scanner automatically rotates, crops, or de-skews documents.
If a small document (such as a receipt or business card) is mixed in with a stack of larger documents, the ScanSnap S1500 can be set to automatically increase the resolution of the small document to help ensure that finer print is discernable. What's more, an interactive interface allows you to choose to easily and quickly bypass double-feeds such as taped-receipts on expense reports.
Four Software Packages Included for Document Organization and Protection
When it comes time to manage your digital files, use one of the four software packages included with the S1500. View, manage, and edit PDF and JPEG files using ScanSnap Organizer 4.0. Or, to do more than just view and print PDF versions of your documents, try Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. This package allows you to create digital IDs and implement password protection to keep confidential documents safe.
To convert your paperwork into editable text, try ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap 4.0 PC Edition. Alternatively, use CardMinder 4.0 to quickly scan business cards, extract the contact information, and place it into editable fields that can be exported to Excel, Outlook, and other contact managers.
