I have had Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 for about a week now, and I must confess, I am pretty amazed by its ability. I do agree with other reviews in that you have to know the specifications of your computer prior to purchasing, but if you are certain that you have all of the requirements that are listed on the box, you should be fine to use the software. I should also note that I did not use the included headphones, rather I bought a Logitech premium notebook headset, and have used it successfully since I began. Everything seems to work well with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10, I've taken a couple of the training exercises so it can better recognize my voice, and other than being time consuming, they are well worth the time invested. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who does not like typing, or who has struggled typing because of a physical inability. I have used the software to write this review, and I have made most corrections and modifications to this message without using the keyboard. I think it is also worth noting, that I have a relatively strong southern accent, but Dragon NaturallySpeaking seems to work around my accent relatively well (I think it's the training). All in all, I think that this is a good buy, if you can find it for less than $60.

I have been reluctant to get into voice recognition, but a friend pushed me into trying this software. I must say the Dragon is very accurate and easy to use. It's much faster than a keyboard. 2-thumbs up!

Since buying this product over a year ago Nuance has bombarded me with telemarketing calls. They do not leave a message. I ask them to take me off the list but they don't.
Google - Nuance telemarketing - to see all the complaints. They show up on caller id as "new once"

Something is so often "lost" when I type a letter. I have a bad habit of stopping in the middle of a paragraph and going back to read the previous 2 or 3 sentences so I can figure out exactly what to type next. Plus there is the "mind-to-keyboard" bridge that is a further nuisance to me, and sentences don't always "connect" as they should.
After the program's short voice-training period, I spoke 3 full paragraphs on my Windows XP system (with a good "Creative X-Fi Extreme" sound card), and there was only one wrong word. I was very impressed with its speed & accuracy (which does have a slider bar adjustment if needed). If you want to see it in action, there are a bunch of good video demo's on YouTube.
It's hard to explain, but this program added a "warmness", and "natural flow" to my letters, just as if I were sitting there talking directly to the person I was writing. The reason is that because with this program, all you have to do is just sit there and talk naturally, (with no delays, distractions, or "over thinking" the next sentence), and the software does the rest.
