I have Crazy Machines 1 and 1.5. Loved both games and they ran great! When I bought CM 2 however, I placed it in my computer to installed the game, the cogs kept spinning and it wouldn't start. I e-mailed Viva Media's customer/tech support and they explained to me that the problem was my computer. The system requirements for CM 2 are more demanding than CM 1 or 1.5 and I did not have the proper video/graphics card to play it. A couple of weeks later, I bought a new graphics card that met the requirements of the game and all is well now! I can play it without any problems!

A word of advice to all: Make sure that your PC can actually play the game before buying the product. Otherwise, you'll just be upset and disappointed when you can't play the game and judging by the reviews that I've read on here, it sounds like that was the case for some :-(

Other than that, great game! I can't figure it out by myself tho. I have to ask my wife and son for help for most of the puzzles :-D

This is a great game, but the publisher offers no tech support. Zero. Zip. Nada.
Be aware that Windows 7 refuses to install the game. The installer halts because it attempts to install a device driver (a copy protection scheme), which Windows 7 sees as dangerous (and probably for good reason). Another example of software publisher paranoia making their products worthless.

This game would download to my computer and others, but would not play as there is a missing file from the disk itself. By the time this game was opened as a gift, my time had lapsed to get a refund, so it was a complete waste of money. Too bad, as I was looking forwarding to playing it with my family.

my 3 yr old is on summer break. My 80 year old dad is watching him while I work. I was looking for something they can play together. My dad likes puzzles and I believe my son would enjoy watching those machines move.

I was right. They both like the game. My dad would explain to my son what needs to be done and my son would do the mouse moving and clicking.

My only complain is that you need to have the software CD in the CD driver while playing it. So you can't have 2 people playing on different machines at the same time. also, the manual is not very clear. It took my dad a while to fingure out the controls

I'm assuming the demo is just the full version with fewer puzzles? If this is not the case please let me know so I can revise my review.

    THE GOOD

    1. This is still a fun game compared to older versions of Rube-Goldberg games. Newer physics modelling has made the game more challenging.

    2. The graphics are very pretty.

    THE BAD

    1. The tutorial section doesn't give the user a complete picture of how different components are used. After the tutorial, the 2nd puzzle introduced new elements which I had no idea how to use! It makes for a frustrating experience if you don't know, for example, that the crossbow trigger only moves in one direction.

    2. None of the shortcut keys work. I can't get a reminder of the puzzle goals, change the background, or get help.

    3. Unlike the screenshots, I am unable to change my view of the experiment. I can zoom in & out and pan around, but I can't change the angle. So in this respect the game is just a 2-D experience which taxes my CPU & GPU unnecessarily.

    4. The game's main improvement (the physics) can also be it's downfall. It sometimes makes an otherwise fun game TOO challenging, and tax your computer's resources too much. This should still be a game, not simply a physics demonstration.
