I decided to purchase the Canon wireless remote to use in conjunction with my Canon Rebel XSi because I have always had trouble taking self-portraits, and I did not want to have to run into place to get the shot I wanted. I also figured that with a wireless remote, it would be easier to hide the remote when taking the photo. Since I don't want the remote to show up, I usually put the switch on the 2-second delay, so I have time to put it away.
With the remote, it is definitely making it much easier for me to take self-portraits. The remote is easy to use, because all you really need to do is press a button. The one downside that I am finding is that my remote does not always take the photo when I press the button. I am not sure if this is a problem with the range or perhaps this is a problem with not holding the remote directly in line with the sensor.

This item is a good add-on to my canon DSLR. It is compact, simple and works well. The only problem is this remote control seems not very sensitive. You have to point it straight to your camera accurately, or it won't work.

The remote control is easy to use and works with my Digital Rebel XTi (same as 400D sold in Europe). Just set camera to "Self-timer / Remote control" (second button from the top on the right side of the display). The shutter can than be remote controlled. Of course the auto focus works also when using the remote control!

I was a little apprehensive about this product as they didn't have it at high street shops (Wolf/Ritz). I was very pleasantly surprised as this does exactly what I needed without any extra nonsense. I wanted to take shots of my family including myself; my baby tends to screw up timed shots so I can needed a wireless remote and this does the job very nicely.

The Canon Remote Control is amazing for the price. Works just like I expected for a fraction of what I expected to pay.
