Call of Duty: World at War is the best game i have ever played hands down. No matter how many times i played the campaign it never got old. Nazi Zombie sessions often go for hours with the fun I have. Online multiplayer is the funnest and competitive ranking system. The maps are great and though a bit predictable, it stays fun. Many people told me that COD4 Modern Warfare was better so traded mine in to get it and im sad to say I was disappointed. I was annoyed of the COD 4 story line as soon as I finished it. The lag on the servers was unbearable and I couldn't look at it. I sold it immediately.
Now I'm going to buy the game again because I still haven't played a game as fun as this with such replay value. Both modern warfares cant compare with this one even though its WWII. Don't make a mistake that I did and get and keep this game forever. ITS THE BEST! Sounds, texture, dialog, and imagery makes you feel the war (especially with surround sound :P). Amazing work.

I've played a lot of FPS games and in my personal opinion the call of duty games, and the battlefield games are by far my favorite. This game in particular though is excellent. I played the whole game with my wife (two player co-op) and it was a blast. The mass multilayer online is a blast as well. For anyone that loves FPS games this is a must have.

It's only natural to try and compare this to COD MW, but really this is just a nice treat to hold us over until COD MW2. This is a great game and worth the money. Very interesting and worth the money.

I never used to play Shooter type games. In fact, I HATED them before I actually came across this game at Connecticon 09. I sat down and started to play it. I could NOT put down the controller. I actually sat down and played it for a few hours. It was an amazing game. The controls feel so natural and the how accurate they are with the design of the game amazed me. It was the best game I have ever played ever since the new gen of game systems have come out! I played it on the Xbox 360 at connecticon, and I learned the controls instantly as if I played it before and never have. I loved the game on the 360, and hope its the same on the PS3 as that's what I own at my house. I got Call of Duty 4, and was disappointed at how quickly I was able to beat it. I played it for a few hours and it was over. I suck on online, so I wont be playing it online that often. I hope this game isn't as over as quickly as Modern Warfare.

This game was a must buy for me. I have always loved World War 2 FPS. If it has Nazis in it I want to play it. Also I enjoyed COD 4 so I hoped this would be better considering it's a World War 2 shooter. This game had decent graphics. There are times of brilliance and moments of disappointment. The game is a lot darker than COD 4. I believe this was an attempt to cover some bad textures. The online is in my opinion not as addictive as COD 4. There is a great game mode Nazi Zombies which added a lot of replay value to this title. There is a better story in this installment, but I still have had no drive to replay the campaign yet.
Presentation- The overall feel of this game is dark. The music is good; the lack of cut scenes hurt the campaign just as with COD 4. 4/5
Graphics- The graphics are not as well done as COD 4. This game has darker levels to try to hide some texture details. This hurts the overall look of the game. 4/5
Story- The story is better done than COD 4, the characters are better developed. The end of the game is really satisfying. Although some cut scenes would have helped. 4/5
Game play- It has basically the same controls as COD 4, and it has no major issues. The guns are well reproduced and even the sniper rifle scopes are reminiscent of the scopes of the time. A cover system would be nice. 4.5/5
Lasting Appeal- This game has a lot of replay value. The online is similar to COD 4, but in my opinion not as good. The campaign doesn't have a lot of replayability, but Nazi Zombies does. With the map packs that you can purchase, zombies adds an additional 200 hours of game play. This mode is very addicting especially with some friends. 5/5
The Verdict- This game may have been forgotten based on its predecessor, but zombies adds a lot of replay value to this title. The campaign is also worth a play through not much more. The online is average not as good as COD 4. Zombies though will make this game a classic in the future. 4.3/5
