Under the leadership of iron-fisted Caesar's successors, the ancient Roman Empire gradually became the prototype for the creation of the modern world. Experience what it was like to live in this tumultuous time in history as you take on the role of an aspiring provincial governor in your custom-made ancient Roman city. As governor, you must lay out each city, ensure your citizens' health and well-being, and protect the homeland from barbarian threats. Being in a position of power requires strength, knowledge and a dogged mentality. Do you have what it takes to grow your new-found city into a thriving metropolis, or will you be toppled, just like Caesar?
Use 100 unique buildings, diagonal roads and a set of decorative items to transform your small village into a expansive cosmopolitan city. Big cities have their fair share of problems. It's your duty to resolve issues, including blazing fires, rampant raids and riots, deadly plagues and famines, before they spiral out of control. I had been playing my old Caesar 3 when I decided to look to see if they had came out with a new one. Works with Vista , minor issues, had to copy 1st disk onto my hard drive. Its been fun to have new scenarios and challenges. Glad I purchased , found a good deal on amazon for this.

I should have read the majority of the reviews before I tried to install this piece of crap. Won't load cab3 files. Won't load, can't play it, no good , piece of crap.
If you need to spend as much time looking for and applying fixes and work arounds to make software run then that's just a sign of extremely sloppy production practices. Do they test these before releasing them, what's the story?
A very frustrating waste of time and energy.
I will not be looking for any Siera products in the near future you can count on that.

This game is a total joke. Regardless of the system you are running (ive tried it on all three of my machines) there are serious issues with the sound causing you to have to play it silently. It is complicated at least but perhaps too much so given the limited bulding area and the variety of buildings need to succeed..

I love this game, I recently had to purchase a new copy because I lost my original due to a move. I play it for hours each day, I am retired and have time to play. I played Caesar III for years and purchased C-IV upon it's release, and was more than pleased with the visual and technical improvements of the game. It makes you work to succeed, and go on to the next game.
