If you liked the first, you love this one. An improvement in every way, it's deeper, longer and more emotionally connecting. A must buy for most gamers, particularly the older crowd who will appreciate its devotion to history.

This game has improved from the first. The missions are longer with a high fun factor for each of them. It can be addictive if you enjoyed playing the first game. The ending is what blew my mind off, never saw it coming. In all, I enjoyed playing the character and building him up for the finale. Two Thumbs up!

I purchased Assassin's Creed II based soley on the fact that I have recently been injured and I find myself off of work for about two weeks. So I picked up the sequel having only sparingly enjoyed the first. Let me start by saying the sequel is better for several reasons:
1) movement through the Free-Run system is vastly impoved
2) the redundancy in missions has been greatly reduced and there is much more to do in the "free world" parts of the game without advancing the storeline
3) multiple weapon types will cater to how you like to attack or stay steath
4) there are multiple ways to accomplish any one mission.
I've been flying through the game and I continue to do the side missions because they are that enjoyable. If you want stealthy action, some fun historical fiction, and a much improved free-run system, buy this game.

I bought this for our son who is 27 and he's going nuts about it. LOL..he loved the first one in this series and is wonderfully pleased about this one as well. I recomment this to all the gamers out there. Great graphics and precise and exact places where the game takes place as well! Actual places for that time period. GREAT GAMES!

i Loved the first Assassins Creed, the Concept of the story was Unique and well executed...as well as the ability to climb and scale buildings from previous centuries..but the game suffered from repetitive missions that had nothing to do with the Target..as well as a Lack of things to DO in those beautifully Lush Cities. sadly, Assassins Creed 2 doesnt really FIX either of these issues.
the game plays Exactly like 1 so you wont need to learn many new tricks besides small things here and there...but nothing to write home about. the cities and buildings are basically the same Structure as the cities from 1...but with a few different colors and textures (Venice is Beautiful)...and like in 1, its easy to just Immerse yourself and get Lost in the cities and all the gorgeous colors...and have Fun doing so. Unfortunately, thats all this game really has to Offer.
in all honesty, all the cities look ALIKE..but like said, with different colors and textures. the Storyline is interesting...but consists of you running around for HOURS, maybe even more so than part 1. i was about 6 hours In and all i had done was run here and run there, it gets Mentally Tiring. there is a Money system now which lets you buy weapons...but why buy a weapon when i can just steal one from a guard?? you have a small village now that you can Modify...but the options for modification are VERY few..and can only be done Once...so the novelty of it kind of Dies the moment you do it. you can now blend in with Prostitutes, Thieves and Mercenaries and have them Fight with you...which is pretty cool...but after you slay a GROUP of guards only to have Another Group respawn in their Place...it gets kind of Old :l i found myself Running from them simply because i got Tired of killing them..
Overall, this game is as Beautiful and Fresh as the first..and has that Fable/Zelda feel that we all Love...but still suffers from the same exact problems as the first. after scaling rooftops with your fellow thieves, running from guards and exploring all there is to explore...this game will get Old...and then its on to the next game. but if all you want is a good Storyline or something to occupy you for the Weekend, give this one a Rent...
p.s., this game would have benefited Well from having some sort of online mode...OR an in game feature where other cities, thieves or guards attack your Villa. that would have given the single player ALOT of replay value...as i Truly enjoyed the feel of the Villa you get to customize...just a thought...
