Before ordering, I was skeptical whether or not I would like this mount for my Garmin Nuvi 255W. I also ordered one of those bean bag mounts to sit on my dash. I like this vent mount much better than the bean bag mount. The vent mount was very simple to install, and it sits lower, rather than sticking up on my dash. It seems pretty stable, although I accidentally bumped my coffee cup against it once and one of the clips came out. I just had to re-mount it--simple procedure. I don't see that happening very often, however. I was also concerned that it might obstruct the air flow from my air conditioner vent. However, even with the GPS unit mounted, it takes up only half of one vent in my 2008 Suburban, and doesn't significantly restrict the air flow. I am very satisfied with this purchase, and the cost is minimal ($5.38 at the time of this review). Wish I hadn't thrown away the packaging from the bean bag--I would like to return that product. Guess I will just keep it as a backup.

This allows for dash (vent) attachment, which is easier to read than suction cup windshield attachment. It also makes removal of GPS easy. I place my GPS in my purse when parking at the mall or other places where break-in is more likely.

Works as advertised. Highly adjustable and easy to install. Takes a little more effort to remove. Positions GPS in a convenient place for everyone and does not block windshield view. Clips are made of plastic so not sure how long they would last if used heavily. I plan to get a second one for the other car and just leave them in place permanently. Happy with purchase.

I bought this mount to mount my GPS in an easily viewed position. I had previously used the windshield mount and it didn't survive the 100+ degree summer days. I purchased two of these vent mounts. Installation was literally a snap. They are very sturdy and grip the vents with no slip. The GPS sits securely on the mounts and can be positioned as desired.
I would easily purchase this item again if needed.
