    The monitor arrived in perfect condition. The packing was well designed to protect the monitor but made removing it a little difficult.
    I put the monitor on the stand, connected the PC using the VGA port - I have a KVM switch - connected the power cord and turned on the monitor. The display is great - I have not changed the default settings.

    The reason for four stars instead of five stars is that the size of the monitor is really a little too big for the maximum resolution. At 1920x1200 there are approximately 89 pixels/inch horizontally and 88 pixels/inch vertically. If the reason for getting the monitor is to maximize the use of screen space and you therefore use small icons you will notice that they appear a bit jagged -- somewhat like opening them in a graphics package and increasing the magnification. 16:9 movies with show at 1920x1080 -- they will look like letterbox. On the other hand, pictures whose resolution are as high or higher than the monitor's look gorgeous -- provided they are scale to mantain their X:Y ratio.

    The only other item is relatively minor but you should be aware of it. The connectors are arranged so they plug in vertically which hides the connector and is necessary if you are going to mount it on a wall. While the digital/analog connections provide for fastening the connector with screws the power connection does not. When I first setup the monitor I appearently failed to insert the power cord firmly enough. The results was that after a few hours the monitor went off and on once or twice and then stayed off. I thought it was dead because the power cord was still plugged into it. However, I did try reseating the power cord and that fixed the problem. It has been on continuously for the last week and seems fine.

    Also be advised that you need to download the user's manul from the ASUS web site. The one that comes with the monitor seems substantial until you open it and discover it has only three pages per language.

    I recently bought this as an upgrade from my dual 20" monitor setup... The image quality is excellent, the additional real estate I get with this monitor is truly amazing, and I highly recommend it.

    I have to say, price looked great, reviews looked great. Maybe I got a dud? Not sure honestly.

    Fast, no dead pixels, some things looked really great.

    This is my first review. For all you guys looking for a gaming monitor - here are my complaints;
    1) Color was was pretty bad. Even my wife commended on it. I have an 2-3 year old viewsonic 1680x1050 that blew this Asus away in color quality.
    2) I couldn't calibrate this thing to look good. It would look pretty good if I would change between preset color scenarios between games, desktop, and web pages. I tried to calibrate this thing for hours and couldn't get it where I was happy.
    3) My last and final complaint - the lights and darks are non existent. You have to make the thing almost completely black to see the dim whites. I know TN panels are known for lack of whites/Darks.

    Why I returned it : I was trying to snipe people in fog on americas army 3... I couldn't see anything thru a sniper scope, and I was getting killed by people with a regular tactical scope. I tried changing the color settings over and over again.. I couldn't see thru the fog.

    After hours of trying to fix it, and believe me I wanted to keep the monitor because it looked big and beautiful... Before I turned it on!

    The only problem I have with this product is that the controls are difficult to use; and, the supplied instructions manual does not help.

    I Needed a new monitor for a few months now, so I decided to look for a few monitors online. I started with Walmart (for the sake of pricing). I found the Asus VW266H and decided to do some research. I started off wanting a 19" with < 5ms response time. I would purchase a 19" w/the hopes of eventually going to 2 monitors down the road. I changed my mind. I still got my < 5ms, but the size changed. I went to the website for spec's and various other websites for reviews and let me tell you, some reviews are not doing this monitor justice. I've had this monitor for a little over 3 weeks and very happy to say that I am impressed. After making few adjustments during the initial setup, I would like to say that the color on this monitor is brilliant. I went from 17" CRT who's light blew out. The monitor came w/all necessary hardware including both DVI & PC cord. The only possible knock is the initial setup. I much prefer side plug ins as to under the monitor. That's the only thing I didn't really care for. I am still considering going to a 2 monitor setup.
