    For me it just works.
Currently using firmware 1.13 (came with 1.07, didn't try version 1.11).
Probably the features/bugs will change over time as the firmware is updated.
I've played .MKV (H.264/DTS/AC3), .WMV (vc-1), .AVI (DIVX, XVID), .TS (MPEG2), .MP4 (MP4 AVS) files successfully, from the USB and from the network port. Resolutions from 480p to 1080p.
It seems the network code seems to be a bit buggy with current firmware, but I use it manly for playing from the USB port.
The second USB port which is shared with the e-SATA isn't working with pen drives for me (maybe its just for powering external devices like HDDs, which need 2 ports). But the manual didn't say anything about that.

After a few firmware upgrades it started delivering what you pay for, which isn't much, so don't expect it to be as good as high-end device from competitors (xtreamer, popcorn).

Playback quality is great, plays many different video/audio formats. Network connectivity is buggy with the current 1.13 firmware (you need LINUX know-how to get it working). Should improve with later upgrades.

Software running on it could be A LOT better.

Came across this product after searching for a media center with ethernet capabilities. Took a chance on it as the price was really good. I read some reviews on the product and realised that it played virtually every popular video file format. This media player has delivered as promised. I use it with powerline network adapters in rooms where there is no network access and the performance is great.
This box is a hidden gem. I have friends who have now purchased this item without even seeing it. It works!

i got this media player as well as wdtv live, both to my big disappointment. i think i will just keep my first generation of wdtv

when compared to wdtv, asus's is not very impressive, UI is poor, features are not better. worst is it will reboot when playing some mkv files. i wrote email to customer service and got no reply.. don't know if they provided customer service or not.

avoid this product i will suggest

not bad for the price. I also have a popcorn hour A110 and cost a lot more than the Asus and the sound only little better than the Asus. It is a great buy.
