I have a lot of experience with computers and this netbook kicks butt. It is twice as fast as my desktop and very lightweight. I took it on a trip with my mifi card and it was awesome and compact. Has everything a web surfer needs.

Excellent value for the money. very easy to set up and run. good battery life and comfortable keyboard. screen is a bit small for working with Excel programs or Powerpoint slides, but serviceable none the less. Would buy it again with no hesitation.

Bought it in October.
Power converter busted after a few days of use.
They said we'd receive a new one in a week.
That got pushed to mid-November.
Just got pushed to early December.
So, my son has had all of maybe a few days of use.
Now it's just collecting dust for over a month.

This is exactly what I have been looking for!
I am a college student, and hauling around a bulky, slow, and heavy laptop (less than 2 years old) was getting old. This netbook was the answer: it offers a slim, efficient, lightweight design, promising few compromises to the decrease in "power," so I gave it a shot. It was also extremely affordable and a piece of eye candy, to boot. I am not disappointed! I've used my ASUS netbook nearly everyday for months! The battery's longevity is amazing (I get around +6.5 hrs with Win. 7, power-save mode) and boot-up takes seconds! I've got it programmed to hibernate when I close the lid, and when a class is over she gets tucked into my school bag with textbooks and comes out for the next class without skipping a beat. The WiFi is such an added boon: very straightforward and easy to use, with amazing results.
I was worried the screen size would be too small and uncomfortable to read, but it has been great for everything I run: the everyday applications include a web browser (Google Chrome) and Microsoft Office. Most of my professors teach from Power Points, and it makes my life so much simpler having the PPT on my screen that I can annotate while listening to the lecture. Another worry was the power plug issues I read about on Amazon: I have used the netbook for several months now, and have never had an issue with the device not charging. Yes, the plug from the adapter to the netbook is a little small, but you can really feel it "click" into place, and a light on the front of the computer tells you it's charging. The adapter itself can run a little hot, but nothing hotter than other electronics we have. I was also extremely impressed at how comfortable the keyboard is. I love the feel of typing on it, and have not had any issues transferring from a regular-sized keyboard to a smaller one. I was also worried that it's small size would equate to something delicate, but I am rough on my electronics, and the ASUS has handled a few rough tousles with textbooks in a bag slung into my car seat without any problems. The device feels weighty and well-made.
The only complaints I have: it is designed to be as small as possible, and the long-life battery on the back end makes it tipsy. I have not accidentally knocked it over, but I think it could easily be done; the screen is glossy (offering a vivid, beautiful display) but I cannot read it in high-light settings (fine in school, but the blinds have to be shut if I'm next to the window, it is also a finger-print magnet; the screen does not open as wide as I would like (fine when using on a desk, but does not offer up any conveniences when using it on my lap, for example).
Even with a few "design flaws," I wouldn't trade my ASUS in for anything else!

The AC adapter died at 32 days. ASUS is not helpful. I will not be able to use the computer for several weeks as ASUS has no adapters ASUS 10.1" Eee PC 160GB Netbook Computer with Windows XP Home - Midnight Blue (1005HA)in stock. The machine is slow because so much extra software is loaded. The adapter temprorarily started working when I banged it on the floor.
